no ho-ho

Traditionally, there comes a day in this season of mandatory rejoicing and frivolity when I think that I may die of sadness. Today is that day. Tomorrow -- or the next day -- it will have passed. But today is that day. So not much of a post, but also not a good enough reason to bail on the one-a-day commitment given that the 31st is so close.

Hi Melanie. I'm sorry that you're feeling sad. This is a tough time of year when it seems like we're expected to be cheerful and frivolous no matter how we're really feeling. I hope that the sun will come out tomorrow and your feelings will lift.

I,too, have sad days at this time. But the older I get, the less sad they seem. Perhaps I'm growing up?
I hope you'll be happier soon.

wv is: ungskin. I'm sure this is a noun!

You want to complain?
I've got a self-assessment tax return to complete by Wednesday AND I've got a cold!

Well done on the one-a-day. Only a couple more and you've achieved it.
You must surely have more soup recipes?

Merry Christmas Melanie, and slap a smile on yer face, you can't leave the old year looking glum :o)

wv is: admerin which could be a cold remedy?

Oh Melanie, I hope you are feeling more up today.(Sunday) I usually save these black moods for February, but boy, I get them too. Usually, I will go to the bookstore, buy myself a coffe and sit and read a lot of magazines that I have no intention of buying. I did that last February and discovered blogging, came home and immediately started my blog. Best medicine I ever had.

Calat, eringla. (which is word verification speak for "thanks, blogging buddies")

the sun didn’t come out, but I am feeling better. thanks, quiltcat.

Dinah, I think "ungskin" could also be a preposition. I have a set of interrogatives that I like.

David, I do have many, many more soup recipes, but I'd like to think that under normal circumstances I can think of something interesting or amusing or provocative to say.

Katie Jane, I have trouble in February too. Eliot (T. S. Eliot) was wrong February, not April, is the cruelest month. Although October has a bad reputation in my family too.

Denise, thanks for the good wishes. I do always feel elevated by glitter.
