hi katie, It's all fabric. There was a maagazine challenge with a heart theme that I got suckied into. I don't like reader challenges, but eery now and again one 'speaks' to me.
thanks, quiltcat. I'm of two minds about it, myself. But I managed to combine a fairly bulky woven bit -- the heart is made of torn and twisted fabric strip woven together -- into my more usual very flat (physically flat) presentations. So I'm pleased with the engineering results.

Many persons have a wrong idea of what constitutes happiness. It is not attained through self-gratification but through fidelity to a worthy purpose. —Helen Keller
Eccentricity has always abounded when and where strength of character has abounded; and the amount of eccentricity in a society has generally been proportional to the amount of genius, mental vigor, and moral courage which it contained. That so few now dare to be eccentric, marks the chief danger of the time. —John Stuart Mill, On Liberty
Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes. —Carl Jung

This is so very pretty! Is it paper collage, or painted, or fabric collage or all the above? Anyway, it's a great start!

I really like this...doorways into the heart/soul/universe. The bird-printed fabric is perfect.
