book exchange, now underway

Earlier in the week... okay, in the month... I got the first of the books for the exchange. Aside from being relieved of anxiety about the size of the pages, I was inspired by Dinah's use of my newest favorite colors:
Tonight, I finished the stitching for my page in her book. Tomorrow, I'll do a little beading, and then, on or about Saturday -- I think I can, I think I can -- post it to the next person in the round. Here's a bit of what I've got so far (hand embroidery over a commercial print):

So, how big are the pages??

I love what you have going so far and can't wait to see more.

Ooh! This looks lovely! And thanks so much for posting my page.
Frankie's should reach you... end of the week?

Jane -- the pages turned out to be 15 cm x 30 cm, which translates to just a bit under 6 inches x 12 inches. I don't know why I was so flummoxed by that, I did look at a ruler, but somehow I couldn't put faith in it until I had Dinah's book in hand.

Dinah -- I thought "I forgot to take a picture of mine" was a bit of a hint, and I'm happy to oblige. Looking forward to Frankie's book, but feeling a little intimidated. I have a glimmer of an idea that might do -- but I want to see the work "live" before I get too fired up...

What you did to that commercial print...is...inspired! The embroidery is just the perfect touch. I can't wait to see how all of these pages progress. This is such an interesting art challenge.
