everybody's a critic

I joined my somewhat local quilt guild in December. ("Somewhat local" means only a 35- to 40-minute drive.) There was a challenge afoot to make a 12-inch-square panel on the theme "music that inspires me." Thanks to the tons of snow that fell in January, the deadline was extended to February and I was able to put together something inspired by Leonard Cohen's song "Suzanne." Stella was underwhelmed.

Stella, with my piece: Her Place by the River ('Suzanne').
To be fair, she had been Working Very Hard All Day on something of her own and earned a nap.
Cabin Fever by Stella
It's too late in the day to do any hoovering, but tomorrow I may introduce her to a little something I call "a broom."

Please give that Stella girl a scritchy scratch under her chin for me. :-)

Ever the eccentric, she's more of a "back o' the neck" girl -- but all lauds are graciously received and I'm happy to pass them along.

the lyrics do cite "the flowers and the garbage"

That piece looks amazing and Stella's critique is envy diguised in snobbery. Any chance of seeing a full frontal photo? (Of Suzanne not Stella)

This panel is for a Guild challenge. I'm new to the Guild, so I'm not sure what the regulations/recommendations are about posting in advance of the judging. (I wondered if I may have been stretching things by posting this much.) I'll find out.

If I can post a clearer image (and get one from my limited camera skills), I will.
