Stella asked:can i have a blog?
And I said: A blog?
Stella: estorbo has a blog.
Melanie: Well, yes, but—
Stella: and all the cats in wales have a blog.
Melanie: It's not all the cats in Wales—
Stella: even australian cats have a blog.
Melanie: Yes, I know . . .
Stella: so why can't i have a blog?
Melanie: I didn't say you couldn't have a --
Stella: then i can?
Melanie: What would it be about?
Stella: what would it be about? my art, of course.
Melanie You know about art?
Stella: i’ve been studying.
Melanie: So I see. You know the book is up side down?Stella: just the part with the words.
Melanie: Indeed.
Stella: so can i?
Melanie: Have you made some art?
Stella: of course.
Melanie: May I see?
Stella: this is Still, Life. with Tissue Paper in Shoe Box on Painted and Lacquered Floor.
Melanie: Lovely. So you’ve given up your fiber work?Stella: no, i’m still exploring ribbon . . .

. . . but I think paper may be my medium. i have a series.
Melanie: Really? A series?
Stella: it’s a series of epiphinnies.
Melanie: Epiphany is a big word for such a little cat.
Stella: i said i’ve been studying.
Melanie: So you did. My apologies.
. . .
Melanie: Well?
Stella: what?
Melanie: The series?
Stella: this is Pass(eD) words: Epiphany I
Melanie: Well?
Stella: what?
Melanie: The series?
Stella: this is Pass(eD) words: Epiphany I

Stella: and II
Stella: and III
Stella: and IVMelanie: They're . . . subtle.
Stella: it's all in the cropping.
Melanie: Well, why don’t we see if you have enough going on to support a blog and in the meantime if you have something you want to post, you can put it on my blog.
Stella: oh . . . okay. but you know what?
Melanie: What?
Stella: i think i have greatness in me.

Stella, we think you do, indeed, have greatness in you. You most definitely have a way with paper.
We think a blog of your own, or even posts on Melanie's blog is the way forward.
I am particularly interested in your ribbon developments as I have been doing some work in this area myself. It's a deceptive medium, don't you think?
geiger,
ribbon's dynamism is seductive but i fear it may not offer the depth i'm seeking in my work. let me know how your investigation progresses -- i expect there are nuances i've missed.

This post has made my morning!! Way to go Stella.
Scooter has a blog, but it hasn't gone beyond the Test Blog stage. Why? He simply can't concentrate on it; there are too many demands on his time: confetti-making, eating, exercising on the stairs, wrestling, and following his human everywhere. Despite a devotion to confetti, he isn't an artist, like Stella, but more of a physical chap of small brain, and there just aren't enough hours in the day....
So he's left it in storage for now; the human can post photos of him if she can catch him. Stella might find more time for her art if she decides to do the same.
Oh, Melanie, please, please let Stella have her own blog??? I would be a follower in a heartbeat!
Brill! Stella has quite a future ahead of her. :)
Melanie, i think Stella has real promise both as an artist and as a blogger! I've enjoyed Halloween's comments on Estorbo's blog as he is a very idiomatic and philosophical cat...would be wonderful if the incredibly cute Stella could have her own blog!
We'll have to see. She's still young and sometimes youthful enthusiasms are short-lived, but she does have potential. She's been busy this morning working on her nip-sock variations. We'll see.
I think Stella should try Twitter. Microblogging might be the right venue for her. If squirrels can do it, why not Stella!?
I, for one, want to hear more of what dear Stella has to say and want to see more of her art. Yes, yes, yes, give her access to the computer!
Stellaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
You can do eed.
Wha' dabou' Halloween?
Pardon the cat. He's had one dried shrimp too many today.
Stella, what a good idea. Start. At once, please. I don't see why you need permission.
This is priceless! Perhaps there is a children's book in there somewhere?
