I've been dithering -- what else? -- about the covers for my contribution to the book exchange. The two books I've received arrived straightforwardly braced with foam core, so I decided to follow that lead and today I cut 2 pieces of foam core to size. But I couldn't bear the idea of naked foam core, so I gelled down some tissue paper -- and I'm completely tickled by the results.
Those of you who do these sorts of things all the time will undoubtedly be all "Yeah, d'oh," but I'm all agog at channeling Clyfford Still, albeit in the most humble way.
So the clothespin people can start their travels tomorrow and I can start on the next thing -- whatever that might be...

I like your tissue paper covers, even if they are only temporary. I never thought of that, I just sent mine out sandwiched between cardboards, since Dinah suggested that we save our covers for last. Now I wish I'd been more creative.
I tend to go overboard with things -- it's the curse of the neophyte.
There are plenty of opportunities for creativity in the rounds of pages. Which is probably where it should be...
I left my cover blank and just used it as support, but now I wish I had added some foam core too. Ah well, I'm sure it will be fine.
Looking forward to receiving all these when they make the round. I need to start posting about the exchange too, summer laziness i suppose.
It's hard, in August, to be motivated about anything more substantive than iced tea.
Ditherers of the World Unite - and one sugar, no milk, for me Melanie.
Love both of these images, especially the green and blue which is my favouite colour combination.
And well done on the Vermont trip - perhaps I'll get to know the ebullient Jane and Vivien sometime in the future too!
Hi Melanie,
these look great - and I'll look again with more time. Just quickly to say that I got your email and replied... all the best, Gesa
